Crawler Compost Turner: Organic Fertilizer Fermentation Production
News August 28, 2025
In organic fertilizer production, the efficiency and uniformity of composting directly determine the quality of the finished product. As a core piece of equipment, the crawler compost turner, with its powerful operational capabilities, has become a powerful production tool for global fertilizer companies.
This crawler compost turner is designed specifically to address the challenges of large-scale organic fertilizer fermentation. Its core advantages lie in its efficient turning, flexible adaptability, and stability and durability. Its fully tracked structure provides a large contact patch and low pressure, allowing it to navigate even muddy composting sites with moisture contents exceeding 60% without getting stuck. Compared to wheeled compost turners, its operational adaptability is 40% greater. The turning teeth are forged from manganese steel with a hardness exceeding HRC55. They can turn up to 1.2 meters deep and cover a width of 2-4 meters per turn, processing 80-150 cubic meters of material per hour. They quickly turn deep-fermented materials to the surface, allowing them to fully air-expose and maintain a uniform temperature of 60-70°C. This reduces the composting cycle from 30 days in traditional composting to 15 days, doubling efficiency.
The equipment supports customized configurations to meet diverse customer needs: Small farms can choose a 30-horsepower model for flexible operation in narrow composting areas; large fertilizer plants can opt for models with power exceeding 100 horsepower, equipped with a hydraulic lift mechanism to accommodate composting tanks of varying heights. For customers in tropical regions, custom high-temperature protective coatings are available to protect the equipment from long-term exposure to sunlight. The pilot-operated hydraulic control system features an easy-to-use handle and an LCD display that displays real-time parameters such as speed and temperature. New operators can operate independently after just one hour of training. Currently, this crawler compost turner has been exported to over 30 countries, including Brazil, South Africa, and Iran. Customers at Brazilian coffee plantations report that after the equipment went into operation, the efficiency of mixed fermentation of coffee grounds and livestock manure increased by 50%, increasing annual organic fertilizer production from 2,000 tons to 3,000 tons, while the organic matter content of the finished product remains stable at over 45%. Going forward, we will continue to optimize the intelligent capabilities of the equipment and incorporate remote fault diagnosis capabilities, providing global customers with a more efficient and worry-free organic fertilizer production solution.
